PRACTICE

AREAS

Family Law

Drafting petitions and advising  on settlements.

RAD Legal recognises that divorce is an incredibly stressful event in one's life and so will aim to keep things as calm as possible. The goal is not to antagonise the other spouse but to find a fair settlement that both parties can live with without recriminations.

There is always more that two people who are affected by divorce. They should all be considered wherever possible. Life is too short.

Lasting Powers of Attorney

Some of us lose our capacity to make decisions for ourselves when we get older. Unfortunately, we never know when this going to happen! If this happens before you have made a Lasting Power of Attorney it can cause you and your family many problems. Your family will incur the costs of applying to the Court of Protection for a deputy to be appointed to make decisions on your behalf. If there are important and urgent financial decisions to be made then you could make your family’s life very difficult while waiting for a deputy to be appointed.
What does a Lasting Power of Attorney do for you?
•    A Lasting Power of Attorney appoints a person or persons whom you trust to manage your affairs if are unable to do so. There are two types of LPA:
•    The most common is the Property and Financial Affairs Lasting Power of Attorney. This authorises your attorney to deal with your financial affairs.
•    The second is the Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney. This authorises your attorney to make medical decisions about your health.
•    If you have a Lasting Power of Attorney your family need not worry as your attorney will deal with your financial and health issues and decisions. Your bills will be paid and decisions will be made about your health.

Commercial Contracts

We can assist with contract preparation, structuring, strategy and review including drafting most types of contracts.

RAD Legal has wide range of experience of deals and transactions including negotiations and the legal and practical issues that arise before completion as well as the contractual documentation.

Wills

Advising and drafting wills to protect the future.

Many people fail to make a Will which results in problems for those left behind. It also means their wishes will not be carried out. Drafting a Will sorts out many problems but often Wills are stored for many years before they are finally dusted off when that person finally passes away.

However, Wills need to be reviewed from time to time as circumstances change. These include such events as marriage, divorce, children and fall outs with friends and family.

No one likes the idea of paying more tax than they have to, particularly when IHT is imposed on income which has already been taxed. So let us advise you on the best way to limit the tax you pay on death. Plan for the future.

 GDPR

Assisting with GDPR compliance in SMEs .

Data Protection is now an important issue with all companies both large and small.

Most small and medium size companies consider this more government red tape designed to make their lives more difficult.

However, whatever our views it is here to stay and we must address it.

RAD Legal advises companies on their

GDPR obligations and endeavours to make them as convenient as possible.

Lets us make your life easier.

Who we are

RAD Legal is a legal services firm based in London. We have experience over 20 years in dealing with property, employment, family and Wills. More recently Human Resources and GDPR. RAD Legal provides English law advice and services to our clients in a wide range of areas of law.

Our long experience and legal expertise allows us to enable our clients to achieve excellent results and provide real value for money.

In 2008 the provision of legal services in the UK changed with the introduction of the Legal Services Act. This now means that in many areas of law clients do not have to instruct solicitors but are able to seek legal advice from non regulated firms like ourselves. The savings in fees can be significant.

Our consultants are not acting as solicitors when providing services through RAD Legal. Law firms are generally comprised solicitors who are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. When we provide legal advice and services to our clients we are not regulated or authorised by the SRA.

In the UK, there are certain activities which are 'reserved' to solicitors (and in some cases other authorised, regulated persons like barristers or licensed conveyancers). These are:

  • the exercise of a right of audience (i.e. the right to act as an advocate in court);

  • the conduct of litigation;

  • conveyancing;

  • probate activities;

  • notarising; and

  • the administration of oaths.

We do not conduct any of these reserved activities. We provide legal advice in non-contentious commercial contracts, employment, human resources, family, GDPR and Wills matters, which are not activities  reserved to solicitors.

ATTORNEYS

Our charging structure is flexible while being clear and unambiguous. We have the advantage of providing partner level advice at significantly lower rates than firms of solicitors. We do not have teams of fee earners, high hourly rates, time recording targets or other fee increasing issues to contend with at RAD Legal.

We are happy to discuss our rates and to accommodate where at all possible. However, our standard rates are reasonable and straight forward.
